An awesome night!

What a great night! Our home group decided to devote some time and paint the kids rooms at Church. We had a blast. It started out pretty even with the guys and the girls and then somehow it became the girls against the guys. It was great to have the girl time! It helps us to know each other better and laugh about our guys! I think mine was picked on the most... poor Scott! But the nursery looks awesome! I love the color Trish or rather Erin picked out!

After painting we went to Christine and Jared to sing happy birthday. I have to admit I have never had cheese cake that good in my life! Sarah' s mom (Trish number 3) is completely spoiling our small group with her goodies!

Please pray for my mom. I do not want to go into details about the situation, but she is going through a tough spot in her life and unfortunately Robin is caught in the middle. I am more proud of Robin than anything through out this. Her faith in God is stronger than ever and she is fighting for it.

Guess what my daugter is learning.......

My 5 year old daughter is learning Spanish in 1st grade! How cool is that! She knows a little bit, like how to count to ten, hello, friend, how are you and bye from Dora and Diego and she has been wanting to learn more for awhile now. Robin is taking Spanish this year too, so that will be cool that both of the girls will be learning another language.
Her teacher sent home a packet of what the students will be learning this quarter.....WOW! I don't think I learned some of this stuff till 3rd grade. I am excited to see the year play out.

I am really excited about Sunday! Our home group is going to paint the class rooms! It was so great to see how many people wanted to do that. We were planning another fun night, but it seemed we all had it in our hearts to give back to Center Pointe. We have an amazing group of people! I love hanging out with them!

John preached an awesome message yesterday. A few minutes ago Scott and I turned on the TV and a ex-member of the band Korn is on a show talking about how he came to meet Jesus. He reminds me allot of Zacheaus and how he spontaneously gave up everything to live his life for Jesus. Pretty cool considering John just preached on this yesterday!!! Scott and I started talking about all the signs we get each week we hear a message, every single week there is affirmation of God's word and the sermons we are hearing.

After Church, Patty, Robin and I took Christine out for her birthday. We were also planning on taking Sarah out but she has been wearing herself to the bone the past couple of weeks! We did have a great time and I think it gave us all a chance to get to know each other better.

Happy Birthday Lorna!

A great and busy weekend!

WOW! What a weekend! I was on call this weekend and boy did I get slammed on Saturday. I tell the girls at work that our customers always know when I am on call because I get slammed and when they are on call its pretty slow! Daneka called me this weekend and said I think you are right!!! Last night I worked until 4am. I am feeling it now... I only have two more days and then I am off for 5 days! I really need it!!!

Sunday was awesome Ray preached a awesome message! At the end of the message he asked who was ready to be used by GOD and the entire Church stood up! After Church we went to John and Jan's house for the guys and Robin to do the football draft. It was nice to sit and talk with Jan and Trish!! I also found out I like to Golf on the Wii!!!!

Group was a blast tonight! Ray and Melissa showed up! Every one was surprised and excited to see them there! Scott played and sang in front of a group today. I think he did great for his very first time!!

Please pray for Scott's cousin Brent. He is going through a really tough time with what is happening to his mom, Betty Curtis. You can read more about it on Scott's blog. Also please pray for Brent's marriage.

My Neice is already a troublemaker!

My sister called me this morning saying she hasn't felt the baby move in 2 days. I tried all morning to convince her to call her doctor and/or go to the hospital. Finally I had Scott (she respects him a lot) go up to her work and we called her doctor. Her doctor told her to come in, so we drove her to Anderson where her doctors office is. As soon as we were on our way Abby starting kicking. The doctor gave Nichole a stress test and Abby started going crazy. Nichole was so embarrassed that her daughter is already making a liar out of her. Of course I had to tease my sister that her baby is already a troublemaker.

Update on Nichole and Baby Abby!

Nichole went to the doctor today and..... no change. Baby Abby is not ready to come out, which is a good thing right now because her room is not ready lol. Nichole was really discouraged and is ready to be off work and more than ready to hold her baby girl!!! Aunt Diana is ready too!! I need another little girl to spoil ; )

Back to school already....

It sure does not feel like this summer should be over so quickly. Where did the last three months go!

Julie is finally re-registered for Village again this year! Scott took the girls up to school yesterday to register and get Robin signed up for her classes. All I can say is if she thought she had to much home work last year, she is in for a surprise!!! Julie is so excited to be going into first grade! That is all she talked about last night.

After work yesterday, Lorna and I went over to Nichole's to finish Abby's room. It is not quite done yet, but its starting to look really cute!! Nichole goes to the doctor in an hour and I am anxious to hear what they say!

Another great weekend!!!

We had another great weekend!! Saturday we met with Dave, Robin, and Rachel for breakfast and catch up with them! I miss them terribly. Next week we will be going to Dove to visit and listen to Dave preach. I hate missing Church at Center Pointe, but it will only be for one Sunday and we will still have our small group on Sunday night.

Today, the band sounded amazing, Ray preached an awesome message that really spoke to me, and the girls each brought a friend to Church with them. Julie's friend Shyly asked if she could come back every Sunday!! Toni enjoyed it too! Though I think the kids this evening wore her out!!

This morning as I was walking into Church, my cousin Krystal called and said Kayla was in the hospital having her baby. So after Church Scott, the girls and I went to go visit baby Colt!! He is so tiny and so cute!!

Then we came back to CP for Movie Night. We watched Facing the Giants. If you haven't seen it, skip renting it and just buy it! It is a great movie. It touches more each time I see it! It really has a great message.

TGIF

Today was probably one of the most stressful days at work. I had so much to do and very little time to do it in. I was up pretty late tracking a tech last night so I slept in this morning and was late to work. As soon as I walked out the door to get in my car, my headache was gone. I closed my eyes and felt the nice cool breeze and that is how I began my night. I got home had dinner with the family and then we went to the park. Julie and I had a blast. We were running around the playground like it was the first time we had ever been to one. It was a great feeling to act like a kid for once. We had slide contest and seen who could swing the fastest. Then we played some basketball. Last year Scott coached her basket ball team. She couldn't make a basket, wasn't able to dribble and running was just out of the question. Today she made one out of four baskets each time, is dribbling much better, and I have never seen her run so hard after anything before. I was impressed! The coolest part of it was seeing her face light up when she made a basket. I think that has got to be one of the best feelings to see a child's face light up with excitement. Robin's friend Toni met us up there, while Julie and I were running around the playground Scott and the girls were playing basketball. Austin went back to his mom's today. She was taking them camping for the weekend but he will be back on Sunday. After the park we went to get Toni some clothes so she could spend the weekend with Robin. She is going to Church with us and movie night on Sunday. Then we went to Stonelick park. My cousin was up to visit and have been camping out at Stonelick. She will be leaving tomorrow so we drove up there to hang out for a little bit and say goodbye.
Tomorrow we are meeting Dave and Robin for breakfast at Gold Star in Wilmington! We haven't seen them in forever and we miss them so much!!! After our breakfast we are meeting up with Patty and Jeremy.
Off to read my bible for a little bit and then to bed.

The highlight of my day

Today was an interesting day at the office. We had a customer come out from San Francisco to meet the dispatch team. Since he will primary be sending request over to dispatch he wanted to come out and meet us all. The company took us all to lunch and we got a chance to talk to James. James is originally from Australia. We all had a great time, of course the restaurant he chose was Skyline and off course the only things I could think of was Paul Peterson and Johns 3-way comment when we were in small group training. James had some really cool stories to tell. I tracked 17 dispatches today and scheduled 10 for tomorrow so today was a crazy day to even attempt to go out to lunch. Surprisingly enough I only had two techs on site when we went to lunch. Things worked out well for how busy we were. We have been down to two people for the past 3 weeks. It will be so much better when Danika comes back to work and the 4th person is hired.

Update on yesterdays post

Well my cousin didn't have her baby last night. She went to the hospital and was making any progress while she was there except having heavy contractions, so against the doctors orders she went home.

My sister started having not so frequent contractions today. They aren't bad and are pretty far apart. I am hoping that she wont have her until the 19Th cause then I am off for 5 days starting the 20Th!

Work has been getting better, but still very stressful. I am sure it will be a lot less stressful when the new people start!

Well off to read my Bible and then to bed. By the way Lisa I am reading in Mark. I read out of The Message, I understand it a lot better when I read out of it.

My grandpa

Yesterday was the 5 year anniversary of my grandpa passing away. Every one gets so sad around this time of year. But the truth is, there is no doubt in my mind he is in a better place. He is with God in Heaven and we should be happy that he is there.

My grandpa lived a long happy life. He loved my grandma more than anything in this world. My grandpa had been sick for over 10 years, but he held on so strong because he wanted to make sure my grandma was taken care of when he died. They completed each other. I always admired the love they shared and how when things got tough, their faith in the Lord only grew stronger.

My grandpa was a good man who loved God with all his heart. He once told me that his dream in life was to see his entire family in Church and living their life for Jesus. His last words were to his old Preacher "I will see you in Heaven Tim"

My dad was a single father of three girls, my grandparents helped him out a lot with watching us at night when he was working a second or sometimes a third job, and then again when he went back to school. I always enjoyed hanging out with my grandparents (they always have the best stories) I miss my grandpa, but the memories in my heart will always be there.

Small Group!

We had a blast at small group Sunday evening! We really enjoy hanging out with everyone and getting to know each one better. This Sunday Trish and Jeremy shared their testimonies! They both have overcome a lot in their life and it only makes me respect them more.

I also found out that Christine is addicted to One tree Hill just like me! Another thing we have in common. I love this girl! I am so glad her and Jared and of course the boys are coming to the Simpson/Smith small group!

We had a lot of prayer request this week. I wonder if that had anything to do with this weeks sermon! By the way Paul you hit it home for so many of us! Thank you for preaching and opening up to us a little bit with your own prayer life!

Ray has posted a blog about CP being ready to start out reaches! I am pumped up!!! Robin is too. She loves hanging out with the teens there and get this even the adults. She was bummed today that she didn't get to go to Rays tonight!

Oh and thanks a lot Chris! My husband is already talking football and explaining the fantasy league to Austin!

I just read Sarah's first blog! Does it seem real that Elijah is already 2 months!!!!! WOW has the year flown by. School starts in 2 weeks for Julie and Robin.....

Babies Babies Babies and some more cool things!

My sister went for her 1 week up check up today and her doctor told her she doesn't think she will make it to their next appointment! I can not believe my little sister is going to be a mommy!!! I was reading her journal to her daughter and wow shes already a mom! My niece is already feisty lol! I got to play with my niece for the very first time today!!! Abby hates it when you put something on Mommy's tummy. Nichole was laying on the floor and we would put something on it and she would kick it off. It was too cute! While I was at my sisters playing with Abby, our other sister called and told us that she doesn't think Nichole will beat Kayla after all. My cousin was in route to the hospital this evening to have her baby! I haven't heard anything yet....

The dairy point has closed down for the session already, boy did that break little Julie's heart! But it didn't stop her, she called the next best thing Papa who makes the best homemade ice cream! So we took a ride over to my dads and Julie ran into her friend Shylie (the little girl that came to VBS with her) The girls made plans for Shylie to come to Church with us Sunday. Shylie ran home to tell her mom and she came out to talk to me. An hour late, Shylie's mom decided she might like to come to Center Pointe also. She was worried that some might judge her for past and not having the right clothes. I explained to her what Center Pointe was all about and by the end of the conversation she was excited about going to Center Pointe on Sunday. I am not sure if she will come, but I hope that she will! We also talked about going to College and how she wanted to go back and wanted my advise. It was a pretty awesome conversation!

The last news of the night!
CNS has decided to hire a second shift person to work 12-9. What that means for me is:
1. I will only be on call MON-THURS 9:00pm to 8:30am and the entire weekend
2. I will only be on call for 1 week of the month not two or three like the past few months have been!
It may not seem like a big difference but it is. I can leave work at 5:30pm, and spend the evening with my children and husband! By the time my on call starts my kids will be in bed! It will also take a lot of the stress and pressure off of me and my family will be able to tolerate me a little more haha
